Seven people were killed and further 40 injured after a passenger bus crashed into a concrete barrier in the Philippines. The incident occurred at 8pm on Saturday in Cebu Province in Visayas Central Philippines. Following the accident, the bus driver claimed that the brakes failed as he was attempting to turn on a sharp curve. This caused the bus to slam straight into the barrier and then fall on its side. Police are investigating reports that the bus was overloaded prior to the incident, as it had a capacity for 45 passengers but was carrying over 60. A resident said it was the latest in a series of mishaps in the area, which has caused it to be labelled as ‘cursed’
