Homeowners and Councillors are calling for safety barriers to be installed on a road in Broughton, Flintshire after a crash caused a trailer to smash through a fence. The accident, which happened on the A5104 Mold Road, nearly caused serious damage to homes and gardens due to the lack of road barriers. Broughton South councillor David McFarlane wants the council to install safety barriers behind the fence. He said: “I feel the eye was taken off the ball in terms of health and safety when the road was in development,” “Common sense would dictate a crash barrier of some kind should be either on the kerbside or behind the fencing.” Flintshire Council is planning to carry out an investigation.
