Safety improvements are planned at a busy crossroads in Staffordshire after a series of accidents in the same area. Highways officers are planning to install safety barriers at the junction of Sneyd Street, Hanley Road and Milton Road, in Sneyd Green. Hairdresser Emma Anderson, who owns The Mulberry Bush Hair Salon, had barriers installed outside her business following safety concerns. The 36-year-old said: “We approached the city council for barriers because our salon is so close to the road. Since we had them installed they have been hit.” The improvements are included in the 3.7 million programme of more than 70 transport projects agreed by Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
