wagon gets stuck under supermarket barrier

09 Nov 2012

A wagon that was attempting to leave Sainsbury’s car park in Darlington accidently got stuck under a height restriction barrier last Friday afternoon. The shopper’s vehicle became stuck after it was wedged under the supermarket barrier due to being too large to fit under the height restriction bar. The incident, which occurred at around 3:30pm, caused damage to the wagon’s roof, and the owner was forced to let the vehicles tyres down so that it could pass under the barrier. The Sainsburys, which is located on Victoria Road in Darlington, suffered a brief backlog of traffic on the road as a result of the accident. Shop staff were forced to temporarily open extra exits in order to keep traffic flowing.
